夢 Heart of the Night：ロゼッティ詩の翻訳

ダンテ・ガブリエル・ロゼッティのソネット集「命の家」から「夢」HEART OF THE NIGHT（壺齋散人訳）　　子どもから青年へ　青年から男へ　　無気力から熱気ある心へ　　信仰の生活から夢見がちな日々へ　　信頼から疑念へ　疑念から放埓へと　　ひとはめまぐるしく変化し続ける　　ああ魂よ　そのように速やかな変化の先に　　彼女の魂が不死の存在となり　　かつての肉体を　あったがままに取り戻せたら　　労働と平和の神　生活の守護神　　恐ろしい意思を持った神　もう一度　　彼女の魂に息を吹き込み生き返らせてくれたら　　ふたたび彼女との平和な日々が取り戻せたら　　彼女の意思を強くさせて　　汝　死の神を直視させてやりたい「命の家」第66番。字面からは読みづらいが、おそらく夢の中で亡くなった妻エリザベスの魂に出会ったのだろう。ロゼッティはそれが夢の中だけでなく、現実でも起こるように、エリザベスの魂に息を吹き込み、もう一度昔の姿に生き返らせて欲しいと、神に願っているようだ。
